mfeed 3x montag

First, what is multifeed. This is a device for receiving a signal from several satellites without turning the dish.

You can implement it in several ways:

1.Installation of several cymbals connected to one tuner
2.Installation of several converters on one plate.
3. Installation of several plates, each of which can have several converters.

In any case, a device with the strange name DiSEqC Switch is used. They are of two types: diseqc switch 2 0 version

2 in 1 out
(2 inputs, 1 output)

4 in 1 out
(4 inputs, 1 output)

The wiring diagram is very simple: 4

An ideal variant (but also the most expensive) is for each converter on a plate. This method of connection is sometimes the only possible. For example, when you need to receive a signal from satellites spaced far enough apart (for example, 36 ° E and 4 ° W)

But, if the satellites are close (4.8 ° E and 4 ° W, 13 ° E and 4.8 ° E, 13 ° E and 19 ° E) and there is a signal level margin for some of them, then several converters can be placed on one plate . At the same time, the dish is oriented to receive the satellite with the weakest signal in the usual way. This signal will be received by the converter in the focus of the dish. The side converters will receive signals from other satellites. The right converter will receive the satellite to the left of the main one, the left one - to the right of the main one.

Of course, the signal to the side converter will not come as well focused as the main one. In the plane of the converters, the spots of the signals have the following form: 6

When using conventional LNBF, only a part of the spot gets into the irradiator, i.e. the signal from the side satellites is quite weak. In order to maximize the use of the side signal, it is useful to use converters with a separate feed that is wider than that of the LNBF. The irradiator is a device, according to which the signal is collected in a converter. However, it should also be noted that the signals from other satellites in the vicinity of the side satellite you need will also be eroded and the spots of their signals will run into your spot.

Usually on neighboring satellites there are no signals with the same (or close) frequencies in the same polarization, but in different polarizations there is quite a lot. Therefore, the accuracy of the angle of inclination of the side converters becomes even more important than for the central converter. If the angle to the converter is incorrect, the signals will come simultaneously from two satellites and even if the signal level is high, its quality will be very low, down to 0.

When using conventional LNBF on the side converters receive signals with a higher level. When setting up, you must also take into account the fact that the satellites are also at different heights. Therefore, the higher the satellite, the lower you need to install converter. 8

Tuning different tuners in different ways. The main actions are:

1. Enable use of DiSEqC in settings
2. When prescribing (scanning) channels, specify the number of the converter (it can be 1, 2, 3, 4 or A, B, C, D)

Now, when switching channels, the desired converter will be turned on.

The problem of attaching additional converters can be solved in several ways.

If you plan to add one or two additional converters to the main converter, you can get by purchasing an industrial fastener of a multi-fid (see photo above).

If you want more converters, you will have to make the mount yourself. The following photo shows one of the options for such a self-made attachment with 4 ° W, 4.8 ° E, 13 ° E and 19 ° E: 10

For the manufacture of this fastening, a sheet of duralumin was used, from which it cut out approximately the following figure with metal scissors (dimensions depend on the specific conditions and purposes):

To attach it to the rod and attach the converters to it, you need to drill holes (so many so that you can then locate the converters horizontally) and bend it along black lines. Since Because the metal is quite soft, the structure can be bent to give it an arcuate shape (with a bulge down). The satellites are on an arc and, accordingly, the converters must be on a symmetrical arc. Converters are attached to the arc using clamps, cut from the same metal, with the help of bolts and nuts:

One of the options for mounting two converters host Eutelsat 36A (NTV Plus) and Hot bird 6, and comments.

1. The approximate position of the NTV Plus converter can be determined manually by holding the converter (see photo) and watching the signal (the TV, however, should also be near;)). To do this, set the antenna (tuned to Eutelsat 36A), the frequency and parameters of the NTV Plus Info channel.

2. The approximate vertical inclination of the converter was made by creating an inclined bed for the neck. But metal. the bar can be bent so that the inclined bed may not be needed).

3. For adjusting screws, the threads must be threaded in the slats. However, if it broke, then you can simply glue the nuts ;-) It is advisable to achieve at least 25 percent of the quality of the signal through the NTV Plus information channel. (With a direct pickup of 60 cm on the Eutelsat 36A, the signal from it is about 75 percent, if not more).

4. Well, of course, should be all extra. Prichindaly (DiSEqC), as with two plates.

5. In general, the angle from the side is unsuccessful, it is not clear that the bar is attached to the main converter’s mounting bolt. That is, on the protruding bolt (with which the main converter was attached), we put in a curved bar, which is welded with another nut.
